In beta test is a new service to help you beat the lines at attractions.  Well maybe not beat the lines, but help you find out which ones are shortest at that particular moment.

CoasterQ’s service sends ride wait times to your internet enabled phones, thereby helping you minimize your time waiting in line.  None of us like waiting in line, do we?

Currently the service is enabled at the following parks, but more are planned.

• Magic Kingdom
• Disney’s Animal Kingdom
• Epcot
• Disney’s Hollywood Studios
• Universal Studios Florida
• Universal Studios Hollywood
• Universal’s Islands of Adventure

• Six Flags Great Adventure
• Six Flags Over Texas

How does it work?  CoasterQ has a two pronged approach to the problem of wait times.  Firstly it uses historical data to predict wait times.  Secondly it relies on data from people like yourself sending wait times via their cell phones.

Its an interesting concept, however I tested the ride wait times when parks were closed and the rides were showing a half hour wait.   Certainly give you something to do whilst waiting in line!
